The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer Series 2
The Great British Bake Off returns with five episodes for Stand Up To Cancer. In each episode, four celebrities join Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding in the tent; aiming to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their baking skills. Only one celebrity in every episode is awarded the coveted star baker apron. On your marks, get set, bake for Stand Up To Cancer!
The first four celebrities ushered into the Bake Off Tent by presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding are Hollywood star John Lithgow, comedian Jon Richardson, Paralympian Hannah Cockroft and outrageous funnyman Russell Brand. The first challenge is a bake sale classic – brownies. The Technical Challenge is... a handful, and the Showstopper Challenge – a 3D biscuit scene of their best performance – is a toughie.
In the second episode broadcaster, author and journalist Jeremy Paxman, award-winning comedian Joe Wilkinson, actress Sally Lindsay and reality star and presenter Georgia Toffolo, join the gang in the Tent. The bakers are given a challenge to make characterful biscuits for their Signature Challenge; followed by a Technical that leaves them with nowhere to hide, and finally a cake in the shape of their favourite hobby.
In the third episode, comedian Johnny Vegas, grime artist Big Narstie, Olympian Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Labour MP Jess Phillips enter the Tent. The celebrity bakers manhandle shortbread for their Signature Challenge, get to grips with a picnic favourite for the Technical and recreate themselves in cake form for the Showstopper Challenge.
Quirky funnyman James Acaster, stage and screen actor Russell Tovey, TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal and actress Michelle Keegan don a pinny for the fourth episode. They have to bake topped flapjacks for the Signature Challenge, navigate a tricky Technical, and make their happy places – out of meringue – for the Showstopper Challenge.
In the fifth and final episode of the series, journalist and news presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy, TV presenter Caroline Flack, actor Greg Wise and Britain’s most successful female boxer Nicola Adams enter the foray. They are faced with a fruity drizzle cake Signature, a graceful – or ghastly – Technical, and a towering biscuit version of themselves for the Showstopper.
