The Great British Bake Off Christmas Masterclass

Great British Bake Off judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood share six favourite Christmas recipes inspired by rich traditions from all over Europe. Paul kicks off with St Lucia buns, saffron buns traditionally eaten throughout Advent in Scandinavia, he gives us his take on the traditional mince pie, making a mincemeat and marzipan couronne. Mary produces a French Galette and her favourite alternatives to traditional Christmas Cake and Christmas Pudding- a fruit-filled Genoa cake and a white chocolate and stem ginger cheesecake.

After 10 weeks of baking mayhem, calm finally descends on the Bake Off tent.

Mary and Paul put on their aprons to show us what they would have done if they had been in the bakers' shoes... They take us through twenty different recipes inspired by the series, so that you can achieve the same results at home.

Paul bakes chocolate and cherry plaited loaf, blackcurrant and liquorice Swiss roll, roquefort and walnut loaf and chocolate volcano fondant puds. Mary bakes a chocolate and ornage swirly tart, lemon and raspberry eclairs, miniature classic coffee and walnut cakes and an elaborate double chocolate entremets...

Joined by three different celebrity Bake Off fans each week, Jo Brand will shine a spotlight on the good, the bad and the soggy bottomed from that week's episode with chat, unseen footage from the BBC One show and an interview with the baker who left that week. The studio audience will join in the baking fun too; challenged with bringing in bakes from home, Jo will look at the best and the worst the audience has to offer. Plus, everyone at home can be part of the show, as every week An Extra Slice will feature photos sent in from viewers. No home bake is too good (or too bad) to appear.
