The Great British Bake Off has won the BAFTA in the Features category. The award was presented to the Bake Off Team at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 27th May. Huge gratitude and thanks to everyone involved in helping the programme gain such fantastic recognition.
The Great British Bake Off has been nominated for two BAFTA awards. It is nominated for ‘best features programme’, and also for the only award which is decided by the viewing public – the BAFTA Youtube Audience Award. Famous, Rich and Homeless, Tower Block of Commons and Young, Autistic & Stagestruck have all been shortlisted for Best Reality Show. The ceremony takes place at The Dorchester Hotel on the 6th September, winners will be decided via a public vote.
Love picked up the award for best ‘Constructed Factual Series’ at the Royal Television Society ceremony held on Tuesday 16th March 2010.
The judges said “The programme tackled a difficult subject for peaktime BBC One, in a way that challenged viewers’ perceptions. The experiences of the three celebrities who volunteered to live rough were authentic as well as disturbing.”
