Monday 6th January 2014- Benefits Street – Channel 4


Our new programme Benefits Street starts tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm.

This observational documentary series reveals the reality of life on benefits, as the residents of one of Britain’s most benefit-dependent streets invite cameras into their tight-knit community. It’s a place where residents face challenges such as bringing up children in poverty, low levels of education and training, drug and alcohol dependency, and crime. But it also has a strong sense of community, where people look out for each other and where small acts of kindness can go a long way.

18th December 2013 - FGM inquiry launched to uncover reasons for lack of prosecution in UK - The Guardian


After constant pressure from campaigners including Leyla Hussein, the home affairs select committee will examine if the legal framework is fit for purpose and they will also look into why there hasn’t been a prosecutions in three decades.

Following the airing of The Cruel Cut Leyla now has over 94,000 signatures. She states that the battle is failing because "multi-agency guidelines are not statutory, implementation at local authority and NHS level is disjointed, funding is minimal, and nobody is monitoring or holding anyone to account"

May Martin, our Sewing Bee judge, has made some 'Christmas Special How To' videos for the BBC website. She shows us how to make a Christmas card, tree decoration, felt table crown and wreath.

Scotland Yard chief Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has called for all MPs to watch our channel 4 documentary The Cruel Cut.

10th December 2013 - Patrick and Vieira: The best of enemies


A LoveSport production for ITV4.

Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira hated each other.

Keane described himself as being “in a war with Vieira”.

Vieira described Keane as “my favourite enemy”.

Their infamous tunnel bust up in February 2005 has entered folklore. On the pitch they fought, off the pitch they tried to fight.

Mary Berry has been all over our TVs this weekend. She has been on The Graham Norton Show and also reunited with her Junior Bake Off judge James Martin on Saturday Morning Kitchen.

December 2013 - The Great British Sewing Bee - Christmas Special


Judges Patrick Grant and May Martin reunite with the show's semi-finalists Stuart, Sandra and Lauren and winner Ann to pool their experience and talents to make everything from Christmas table linen to exquisite tree decorations. Ann demonstrates how to create a teddy bear, Stuart produces a tweed satchel, Sandra puts together a gardening belt and Lauren constructs a fabric doll's house. As they sew, they all share stories of their own family Christmas traditions.
